General Election 2019 Candidates Announced

We are excited to announce names and details of candidates for the 2019 General Election.

Plymouth Sutton and Devonport: James Ellwood

Plymouth Moorview: Ewan Melling Flavell

South West Devon: Ian Poyser

Ewan Melling Flavell: 

Ewan a science teacher and local entrepreneur who has been resident in Plymouth for 18 years. He is also a local union representative for the NASUWT. As an educator he is particularly concerned about social justice and the importance of a fair society which can be judged on its ability to form happy, productive and creative individuals. Ewan is standing as a Green candidate who will speak up for Plymouth Moorview and advocate a sustainable future which protects our natural environment for future generations.

James Ellwood: 

James is a filmmaker who runs a Plymouth-based Social Enterprise. His experience of small business and work in local communities makes him perfectly placed to understand the needs of local residents. 

He is a strong advocate for investment into ethical business in Plymouth. He is standing as Green candidate with a vision of an alternative, more responsible and inclusive ways of doing politics in Plymouth. 

James lives in Stonehouse where he is raising his family. He stood as Green Party candidate for St Peter & the Waterfront in the Plymouth Local Elections 2019. 

Ian Poyser:

Ian works within  waste & recycling industry, and brings detailed understanding of how Business and Local Government functions and the pressures they both face. Ian is a passionate advocate of finding local solutions to the biggest threat to humanity and natural world – climate change and habitat destruction.

He believes that tackling social, economic and environmental issues through the delivery of Green New Deal for the nation is critical.
