The Plymouth Green Party is delighted to confirm that local student and Green activist Daniel van Cleak will be our candidate for our target ward of Drake in the May 2018 council elections.
Daniel has been a Green Party member for over five years and has been actively involved in the Plymouth Greens for over two years. Originally from Worcestershire, Daniel is coming to the end of a three-year degree in business management and plans to remain in Plymouth after university, inspired by the energy of the city. He got into politics to stand up for what he believes in and change things for the better.
Daniel today said: “I am honoured that I have been trusted by the Plymouth Green Party to fight the Drake seat, which I believe we can and must win in 2018. Plymouth deserves a councillor from a party which understands that we must provide everyone with a secure, stable life, with jobs people can build a life on and opportunities for small businesses to succeed.”
Make no mistake – where Drake is concerned, the Plymouth Green Party are in it to win it. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to help with our campaign which will be starting on the coming weeks. If you would like to help the campaign in any way you can, be it making a donation to our funds, through assisting with door-knocking or anything else you can think of, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
