Pat is standing as a candidate for the Green Party in Efford and Lipson is because she want to see more and quicker action on
issues that have been left for too long.
Food waste collection is an important issue that has concerned her for many years. Plymouth currently sends tonnes of food waste to the incinerator and burnt when a food waste collection could recycle it into a rich compost to use locally. In Totnes they have been collecting food waste since 2002. What are we waiting for?
Another reason Pat is standing is that she is appalled by the felling of the trees in Armada Way. This was carried out by the Conservatives, so they must take the blame, but Labour, who now have more councillors than the Tories, could have stepped in to prevent it. Instead they sat back and watched, which she feels is almost as bad.
